Pioneering artisanal gold ventures Green Gold, Fairtrade and Fairmined right at their very beginnings, Arabel Lebrusan has since spent two decades leading passionate conversations on ethics and sustainability in jewellery.
Throughout, she has remained tireless in her quest for a fairer and more sustainable world. As one of the world's first ever Fairtrade Gold licensees, a founding member of the Fair Luxury campaign group and the deliverer of her very own TEDx talk on ethical jewellery - amongst myriad other triumphs - Arabel was recently dubbed "the queen of ethical jewellery". She is regarded by many as a pioneer in this field.

12 years ago, when Arabel Lebrusan closed the door on Leblas – the first ethical jewellery boutique on London’s esteemed Sloane Street – she knew she was just getting started. Fuelled by eye-opening experiences as an international jewellery designer, an MA in sustainable design, a Gemmology degree and a passion for jewellery as an active tool for change, she founded Lebrusan Studio.
As well as an award-winning jewellery designer, Arabel is a visual artist whose practice often treads the line between art and jewellery. While her one-of-a-kind art jewels are conceived as artistic responses to social injustices and ecological concerns, the heirlooms she designs under Lebrusan Studio are wearable symbols of hope, telling stories of beautiful precious materials, traditional craftsmanship, and the milestones of the wearer's life. Arabel completed her second MA - Sculpture - at the Royal College of Art in 2023.
Lebrusan Studio originated in 2012 as an online business with a small but loyal clientele. Today, we're decorated with accolades, widely considered a spearhead of the ethical jewellery movement. Though proud of our leading role – earned through tireless campaigning, questioning, charity work and storytelling – we remain grounded in our original principles of approachability, young spirit, and an ongoing willingness to evolve. Climate justice and socioeconomic reparations remain at the heart of everything we do.

"From my initial London visit right up until the day my ring was delivered, the customer service was fantastic. Hayley was so friendly and helpful and didn't pressure me at all to make a decision - I felt so at ease whilst trying on the rings. She advised me on how to go about ordering and was informative about how long it might take - even offering me a sample ring ring loan if my order wasn't ready for the wedding. The ring arrived on time and is beautiful, and I love it even more knowing that it is made of 100% recycled platinum. I visited a lot of shops in Hatton Garden so that I could make an informed decision but I don't think any compared to the customer service and quality of Lebrusan. I would recommend to anyone who wants to make more ethical choices."
